It’s the new ITV show where pop stars take on the massive challenge to become opera stars and, if you’ve been watching, you would have seen just well they’re doing.

With half of the girls at GS watching London Fashion Week and the other watching Strictly Come Dancing, we’ve had to split (don’t panic, it’s temporary!). Mixing couture and SS10 trend forecasts with sparkling jewellery, sequins and samba, the conversation when we met up at the weekend was quite diverse. We’ll keep you up to date with next season’s trends all in good time but, for now, let’s talk Strictly!

Firstly, thank you to everyone who has already contacted us – yes, we’re pleased to confirm that the stars and pro’s are once again adorned with Glitzy Secrets jewels. With this being the 5th year our jewels have taken to the dance floor, we have developed something of a little office custom and, as our PR Team prepare the Strictly Come Dancing jewellery and hair accessory selection, we all hedge our bets on who we think will be crowned King or Queen of the Dance Floor – before they’ve even hit it. The winner gets to choose a ‘piece’ from Glitzy Secrets collection plus a bottle of champers (the MD is excluded because she comes from a dancing background and can spot a good dancer simply from the BBC promo images which, quite frankly, we think is an unfair advantage to those of us with two left feet!).

So now that reality TV has taken over our weekends and social life, what did you make of the first SCD weekend? Who do you think sparkled and just what did you think of the dresses? We’re hoping this series turns out to be as good as the last - it’s certainly looking promising already. And speaking of series 6, we thought we’d leave you with a few of the notes we received from the celebrities from last years Strictly Come Dancing. Hair Accessories were bold, jewellery was dazzling and, as you can see, the stars loved it. Have to go now… it’s back to LFW!

Long, cold wintery nights are fast approaching but we’re not quite ready to hide beneath our chunky grey knitwear just yet. While the summer brights are fast heading to the back of our wardrobes, we’re going monochrome mad! This chic colour combo perfectly mixes crisp white with sultry, classic black, perfect for effortless style on fresh but sunny days and mild evenings.

We particularly adore the timeless versatility of monochrome fashion. Whereas Kate Moss (far right) goes for daytime chic with Beatnik Babe style in a ’60′s inspired shift dress and ballet pumps, Spanish actress Elsa Pataky (right), goes for a contemporary take on Hollywood Glamour in a dazzling floor length evening gown, proving monochrome fashion can take you from day to night with style.

Of course, we also love that we can extend the life of our white summer wardrobe with just a little imagination! On the last sunny days of summer, we’re teaming our favourite white maxi dress with a black shrug and layers of monochrome fashion jewellery. Mix and match your summer with your winter wardrobe and accessorize with chunky, statement bangles, jet and crystal drop fashion earrings or dress your locks with monochrome hair accessories for utterly chic style.

Hurry, those winter days will be here before you know it. Not all bad news though, we’ve spotted some darling sweater dresses, perfect for adorning with super bold fashion jewellery.

Stop! Don’t get us started on the fabulous fashion trends for A/W09. 

It’s bold, daring and certainly not for the faint hearted but seeing so many celebrities dressed to kill in scarlet, has got the fashion world, and indeed us, on red alert!

The perfect example of how to wear head-to-toe red, Myleene Klass opted for a full skirted Jasper Conran ruffled gown but kept accessories to a bare minimum, with nude Christian Louboutin heels and a simple black belt. Her loosely tousled locks kept the look effortlessly natural, ensuring her divine gown took centre stage. Fabulous!

Blending seamlessly into the red carpet certainly doesn’t seem to be an issue for Myleene or the countless celebrities who’ve also embraced this daring shade with style but, for many of us, blending into the background would receive a warm welcome, with the thought of wearing such a bold shade of red sending us a similar colour! So how do you flaunt the Scarlet Starlet in you without standing out like a pillar box in the midst of a sea of sombre grey suits on a Monday morning? Accessorize, darling. Think red fashion jewellery, a pair of fabulous red heels, a red clutch and red lippy (not all at once, of course! Less is, after all, more).

So team a chic little grey knit dress with a pair of statement red chandelier earrings, a simple strapless thigh-skimming LBD with a jewel-dropping scarlet necklace, carry a little red clutch bag or dress your hair with a bold red hair clip. Team with a little red lip gloss or ultra-shiny nail polish and you’re effortlessly at the forefront of fashion.
