Wonderful Christmas wedding venues

Ooh, I do love a good Christmas wedding and, when you’re planning a festive celebration, the venue you choose is more important than ever. It needs to be welcoming, warm and absolutely wonderful so today, I’m going to share my selection of twelve magical venues that are all perfect for a Christmas wedding…

Romantic Christmas wedding venues

Iscoyd Park

Iscoyd Park in Shopshire is simply beautiful. This romantic Georgian country house can be exclusively yours for your wedding so you settle down and make yourselves at home while winter does its worst outside. Iscoyd can host intimate celebrations and larger weddings and the entire estate literally oozes timeless country charm.

Aswanley

There’s something very appealing about escaping to Scotland for Christmas so Aswanley in Aberdeenshire has to be on this list. It’s a much-loved family home and it’s a superb spot for a wedding. Aswanley is also a real festive treat as it combines amazing grounds with an impressive restored Victorian barn that gives you all the style of a country house wedding and all the comfort of a traditional highland estate. Bliss.

Chateau Rhianfa

We’re dashing off to Wales now to visit the dreamy Chateau Rhianfa on Anglesey. This impressive Grade II listed French-style chateau looks over the water towards Snowdonia and it’s full of luxurious surprises for you and your guests. You’ll be incredibly well looked after by a chef who creates delicious menus and staff who just want to make you happy.

Polhawn Fort

Polhawn Fort is an award winning wedding venue set on the south coast of Cornwall and it’s rightly popular. The spectacular fort looks down from its cliff top perch to the secluded beach below and, let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a wild sea in winter? Think of the photo opportunities! Celebrate in the grand fort or relax in the summerhouse, Polhawn Fort really is a very special spot.

Stunning Christmas wedding venues

The Gilpin

I absolutely adore the Lake District and I think it’s all the more impressive in the winter. The Gilpin has become my go-to Lakeland fave and oh wow, do they love a wedding! The Gilpin is actually two luxurious hotels on separate estates and whilst your guests can stay at Gilpin Hotel (check out the Spa Lodges!), weddings take place at Gilpin Lake House, a place that could have been designed just for weddings. Look out over your own lake and enjoy 100 acres of grounds not to mention mouthwatering menus and full, fantastic flexibility.

Garthmyl Hall

Ever since I first found out about Garthmyl Hall, I’ve been a little bit in love. Again, this Georgian property on the Wales/Shropshire border offers you exclusivity and real house-party vibe. Weddings are limited in number so you’re always YOU and, at Christmas, why not take the chance to spend time with people you love? Garthmyl has been lovingly restored and the mix of traditional features and super quirky details alongside elegant and timeless touches is sheer perfection.

Fabulous Christmas wedding venues

Cripps Barn

Coco Wedding Venues describes Cripps Barn as being ‘magnificently isolated’ and this so appeals in winter! Set yourselves adrift for a wedding in this Cotswold stone barn for a really idyllic wedding. There’s an open fireplace, a terrace with firepits and you can even have a bonfire in the garden. I’m also a great believer in ‘big’ winter food so the menu at Cripps Barn that includes whole bbq’d lambs and suckling pigs alongside feast-sized sharing bowls really makes me smile.

Asylum Chapel

This amazing dry-hire venue in London is one of the most flexible city spaces ever and when it comes to atmosphere, it really can’t be beaten. Just 10 minutes away from London Bridge, Asylum Chapel is the venue for chic city couples looking for something slightly different. Hauntingly romantic, Asylum Chapel can accommodate up to 120 guests and it’s even pet-friendly!

The perfect Christmas wedding venues

Brinkburn

If you’re looking for winter wedding heaven, you might well find it at Brinkburn. This is an historic, secluded wooded destination on the banks of the river Coquet in Northumberland. It’s a real ‘destination venue’ and it can be all yours. There’s something for everyone here from a scheduled ancient monument and stylish tipis to contemporary accommodation and a team that just want you to have the most amazing day.

Southend Barns

I might be biased as I have family in Sussex but I do think it’s such a beautiful part of the world, especially in winter. Southend Barns sits on a working farm and the converted farm buildings are just full of rustic charm. However, this is rustic luxe at its best with catering by the superb Field & Fork not to mention the calm, secluded bridal suite with its contemporary interiors and a log fire that will be lit for your return at the end of the evening…

Sensational Christmas wedding venues

fforest

I’ll be honest, I want to go to fforest. It is just such a dream of a venue with giant hat tipis, dining and party barns, a garden pavilion, your own private pub, a large communal firepit and even a secret woodland sauna. As fforest weddings are residential, you’ll have at least two nights with all of your guests in this magnificent, natural location. If you’re looking for the ultimate Christmas wedding, then fforest is a real gift.

Danesfield House

Danesfield House has to be one of my favourite spots at Christmas time and afternoon tea here is a pre-Christmas family ritual! It’s in a great spot next to the Thames between Henley and Marlow, it’s stunning and the staff are just wonderful. At Christmas, the giant tree in the Great Hall would make even The Grinch feel the seasonal love and the bar mixes the meanest cocktails ever! There’s plenty of luxe accommodation for your guests, options for ceremonies and dinners not to mention the really fabulous spa.

So, when you’re writing your Christmas wishlist, it might be worth asking Santa for a little trip to one of these magical wedding venues…
