Feminine Floral Applique

For the new year, flowers are going big and bold! As well as traditionally delicate floral lace, we’re expecting to see lots of 3D flower details in designers’ 2016 collections. Look out for ombre effect blossoms on tulle ballgowns, blowsy petal-covered straps and layered lace blooms on corsets. This trend goes particularly well with blush gowns for a romantic look, or on short cocktail dresses for a Sixties feel.

Flirty Feathers

The perfect blend of fashion-forward and fantasy, feathered wedding dresses are undoubtedly becoming more popular for 2016. If you’re worried about looking like a dove release gone wrong, don’t be! Feathers are surprisingly flattering, adding movement to slinky flapper-style sheaths and volume to romantic ballgowns and flared mermaid skirts. For just a touch of the trend, why not try a wedding veil with pretty ostrich feather detailing?

Victoriana Elegance

Ever since Nicky Hilton stepped out in her remarkably demure Valentino gown for her wedding to James Rothschild, the wedding world has gone mad for high-neck, long-sleeved dresses. Inspired by icons like Grace Kelly, designers sent gowns with a distinctly Victoriana vibe down the runway – look out for high gathered necks, fluted sleeves and vintage lace. If you want to add a more bohemian feel to your bridal look, wear your hair in fluffy, undone waves rather than a tight updo.

Plunging V-Neck

On the other end of the spectrum, we’ve got bridal’s sexiest neckline: the plunging deep V. The key to nailing this trend is balance – keep your skirt sleek with a simple ball-gown cut or a silky column. For summer, Grecian pleats with bejewelled sandals suit a deep V down to the ground, while long sleeves and a faux fur stole look seriously stylish in winter. If you want a little security, adding illusion netting is a great way to flash the flesh without offending the future in-laws.

Chic Trouser Suits

If a big white dress just isn’t your style, make a statement on your wedding day with an impeccably-cut bridal trouser suit! Flowing, bohemian playsuits look amazing at a summer wedding, but we’re all about sharp tailoring and chic styling. Pair with serious heels and a wide-brimmed hat for that Bianca Jagger vibe.
