Luxe Loving: Going for Gold on Your Wedding Day
Gold is a wedding trend that has been increasing in popularity over the last few seasons. With more designers including beautiful blush, nude and champagne gowns in their collections, this opulent metallic hue isn’t going anywhere and is the perfect way to add some luxe to your wedding look. If you’re going for gold on your special day, you’ll know that gold bridal accessories can be hard to come by. So when Glitzy Secrets told me that they’re due to launch a gorgeous new gold jewellery and hair accessory collection that will perfectly with a range of wedding themes and styles, it was the perfect time for me to share some of my favourite colour schemes that coordinate fabulously with gold.

For Ivory or Gold Wedding Dresses
Blush, nude, coffee or champagne dresses look beautiful coordinated with gold but even if you have chosen a wedding dress with an ivory finish, gold accessories will give a warmer feel to your look than silver. For a more delicate and subtle style, look out for metallic gilt detailing, embroidery or fine gold lace to give a shimmer of the decadent hue and use the opportunity to emphasis the colour with a dainty gold bracelet and chic earrings.
For Mint and Pink Colour Schemes…
One of my favourite wedding colour schemes is blush pink and mint – and splashes of gold work beautifully here – in fact mint, blush and gold are the colour scheme at my own upcoming wedding! There are some stunning mint bridesmaid dresses out there with gold detailing that can be finished with chic gilt accessories, or for blush gowns, think about teaming with some fabulous metallic wedding shoes.
For a Wedding with the Midas Touch…
Gold doesn’t have to just be an accent colour, you could also have the opulent shade as your primary wedding colour – this can work particularly well for Autumn weddings. From gold bridesmaid dresses, chandeliers to sequin table cloths, there are so many ways you can embrace a bold and glamorous colour scheme. Then complete your bridal look with antique gold accessories for you and your best girls for an autumnal glow.

For Boho Brides
If the glitzy and glam wedding look isn’t for you and you are more of a boho bride and adore a rustic wedding theme, wear your hair long and flowing and complete your look with a gold headband and layer bracelets and bangles. This can perfectly compliment a rustic wedding style with splashes of gold.
For Navy Colour Schemes
If I hadn’t chosen to have blush, mint and gold for my wedding colour scheme then navy would have been the next on my list. I love how navy gives the same sophistication as black without feeling quite so heavy. Team this navy colour scheme with splashes of gold and you have the perfect winter colour scheme – dress your maids in navy gowns that are then completed with a simple gold bracelet and earrings.
