Who can resist the romance of a Valentines wedding? Love is well and truly in the air and we’re diving head first into a sea of fizz and flowers. Cake and cocktails

Pink ombre icing with a fuchsia tinted sponge? White iced cake covered in hand-piped hearts? A giant red velvet cupcake tower? The options are endless when it comes to Valentines cakes.  Clash vibrant hues of scarlet and baby pink or keep to oh-so-pretty soft blush hues, and don’t forget to customise your cake further with a romantic topper. Add a pink cocktail option (like a Cosmopolitan or French Martini) to your bar menu and serve petite heart shaped canapes to complete your perfect Valentines feast.

Stationery

They say a couples’ wedding style is revealed by the design of their invitations but it’s safe to say the date itself will give indication to your Valentine wedding theme so why not go full hilt with the romance?! Go traditional with invitations adorned with hearts and flowers or add a sentimental touch with a simple, meaningful love quote. Pink and red are synonymous with Valentines day but there’s no harm in thinking outside the box. Consider incorporating white lace into your cards or asking your designer to create laser cut invitations outlining your wedding date or initials within a heart shape.

Décor

There’s something irresistible about soft pink centrepieces and we think candyfloss colours are a great option for floral décor. If you don’t want to go into Valentines overdrive with classic red roses, a delicate selection of pale and deep pink blooms looks elegant when paired with church candles, tea lights and wicker hearts. If you’re feeling creative source a piece of reclaimed wood, hammer thin nails into a heart shape and loop fine rope diagonally across the board and around each nail head to create a woven heart decoration for your reception venue.

Bridesmaids

Not everyone feels comfortable wearing bright red or pink but thankfully the trend for dressing brides in different colours is ever popular and we can see the appeal. Each bridesmaid will have her own style and preferences when it comes to finding the right dress, not to mention varying body shapes and skin tones so consider dressing your favourite ladies in complimentary rather than matching colours. If you prefer coordinating style, light to mid tones are generally more forgiving and you can always add a splash of a more vibrant hue with a sash. Give each bridesmaid a single rose wrapped with delicate pink ribbon or accessorise their dresses with pretty floral headbands to complete what has to be the most romantic wedding theme ever.
