As Frank Sinatra sang, love and marriage go together like a horse and carriage and it’s certainly true that some things are just meant to be. With perfect pairings in mind, the inspiration for this feature is another inseparable duo and so, without further ado, here are some truly delicious coffee and cream ideas for your wedding day…

Browns and creams make a wonderful wedding colour palette. Imagine that you’re adding just a drop of cream to your coffee or pouring in plenty and just think of all the shades that you can use. Brown and cream is an excellent combination for a rustic, boho or natural wedding and it’s certainly great for autumn and winter months too.
Once you’ve settled on a coffee and cream theme, it’s time to get planning and let’s start with your venue – somewhere with outside space would be splendid and if you’re going rustic, stick with a venue that’s fuss free and as natural as possible. A blank space venue can be transformed to fit your theme with wooden tables and chairs but it’s hard to make boho brown and cream work in a glitzy ballroom or stately home.
Now let’s look at your outfits and for the guys, an informal brown suit (hints of tweed are more than acceptable!) is spot on. Team it with a cream shirt and a tie and of course, your groomsmen can wear suits in varying shades. For the bride, a flowing cream gown is an absolute must and maids can also wear cream or brown (and again, mismatch shades and styles are spot-on for this theme). Brown leather shoes or boots are the perfect finishing touch.
Cream blooms are an obvious choice and definitely speak to your florist to see what other touches you can incorporate. I love floral displays in brown wooden crates or flowers on rustic wreaths. You can also go to town with your table centres – pile up books with brown leather covers, use brown bottles as vases or wrap vases in hessian or burlap. Add more rustic touches to bouquets and buttonholes with string, feathers and dried seed heads for another touch of rustic luxe.

Brown paper is the ideal styling accessory for your coffee and cream wedding. Not only is it brilliantly economical, it’s super adaptable too. You can use lengths of brown paper straight from the roll as table runners or place mats or wrap favours in packages and tied with string (a personalised coffee blend would be great!). Alternatively, hessian and burlap fabrics can be used in similar ways and you can certainly include more unusual props such as suitcases, trunks, ladders and more. Let your imagination run wild!
With a coffee and cream theme, you’ve got the perfect cake flavours already but there’s nothing to stop you opting for any flavour you like and simply ice the cake in colours to suit. Add some flowers and sit atop a wooden slice and you’ll have a superb cake display. Also, with a coffee and cream theme, you really have to set up a coffee bar for your evening guests – the caffeine will keep them dancing for hours!
