When it comes to choosing outfits for your team of ‘maids, we recommend choosing a mixture of lilac and blue gowns. This means your best girls can choose a colour that they feel is the most flattering and they’re much more likely to feel comfortable on your special day. Pale lilac gowns or sky-blue dresses will look beautiful together and your ‘maids will still look coordinated. Alternatively, if your bridesmaids wanted to wear light blue gowns, you could opt for purple bouquets to tie your theme in together. Bouquets bursting with lavender will not only add a dash of lilac, they’ll smell incredible!
You can also use lavender throughout the rest of your wedding day details and it’ll help to give your theme a hint of lilac. You could tie lavender to the back of your chairs with silk blue ribbon or you could offer your guests silk blue bags full of dried lavender as wedding favours. If you’re lucky enough that your wedding venue features a lavender field, make the most of it and ask your photographer to capture some amazing memories!

If you’re looking for other ways to decorate your venue, consider using blue-tinted jars, vases and bottles filled with lilac and white flowers. You can dot them along windowsills, fire places or as part of your table centrepieces. Add a rustic touch to your wedding day décor by wrapping hessian, twine or burlap ribbon around the jars. If you want to give your day a vintage vibe, opt for white lace details instead.
A lilac and blue colour palette is guaranteed to be pretty, romantic and utterly charming, don’t you think?
