13 Spooky Places To Tie The Knot At Halloween in The UK

The Prettiest Halloween Wedding Ideas

October 28, 2016

Can you believe it’s Halloween time already? Halloween is often seen as a spooky time of year, full of skulls and carved pumpkins. It may not be the first theme you think of for your special day, but it’s incredibly easy to create a romantic Halloween wedding. Forget about ghostly black and embrace pretty pink for a Halloween wedding!

You can obviously choose any colour palette for your Halloween wedding, but today I’ve decided to use deep pink and red shades as my main focus, using metallic accents to add a dash of drama.

Wine red and pale pink roses already sound beautiful. The deep red colours will look romantic, and will be a subtle nod towards your Halloween wedding. The baby pink will keep your bouquet looking light and super pretty. Add lots of wild foliage and greenery to your bouquet – you want your bouquet to look natural for a Halloween wedding, the wilder the better! If you do want something a little more dramatic, consider wrapping a black ribbon the stems of the bouquet. It might not sound like it should work, but it actually looks beautiful and is perfect for a Halloween affair.

While we are on the subject of flowers, they make for fabulous centrepieces. Set along the middle of your wedding tables and work in tall deep red candles in gold holders amongst the blooms. Nestle a variety of different pumpkins in your centrepieces. This will look wonderfully Autumnal, without being too overpowering.

Pumpkins are a must-have for any Halloween wedding, and you can get seriously creative with them. As mentioned, they make fab table centrepieces but they have tons of other uses too. Use them as place names, wedding favours or simply dot around your wedding venue as a hint towards your wedding theme. Are you a DIY savvy bride or groom? Then why not decorate your pumpkins! Paint them to match your colour palette – pink or glittering gold is guaranteed to look good! They also look great with ‘Mr’ and ‘Mrs’ written on them in calligraphy font. You could even use them as your table names!

When it comes to Halloween wedding food and drink, there are tons of fun ways to reflect your theme. Create homemade blackcurrant and berry inspired cocktails, they’ll be devilishly delicious and you can decorate the drinks table to mirror Halloween. Pumpkin decorated cookies and cupcakes are a tasty alternative to traditional canapés but they also make yummy wedding favours. Pumpkin soup is also a must-have starter!

If you’re having children at your wedding, they will absolutely love this theme. Fill pumpkins or metal pots with tasty treats and sweets. If you’ve got a flower-girl or pageboy, why not ask them to hold a mini cauldron as they walk down the aisle?

If you’re planning a Halloween wedding, I hope that you can see you don’t have to go down the spooky ghoulish route! There are subtle ways to use traditional Halloween elements without being too overpowering. It’s easy to create a completely original colour palette and wedding style while having your big day on Halloween!
