Beautifully Elegant Ivory & Blush Pink Wedding Ideas

July 10, 2016

If you’re looking for a pretty yet classic wedding theme, then you can’t go wrong with ivory and blush. Ivory is a wedding staple and suits all seasons, while blush has been incredibly popular in the wedding world recently, and will give your day a soft pop of feminine colour. Not only is it beautiful, but blush and ivory is also a wonderfully easy theme to create! Here’s some of our favourite ivory and blush wedding inspiration…

The dress

Blush wedding dresses are still the romantic bride’s gown of choice this year, and designers are showcasing more and more stunning designs in soft pink shades to meet demand. Accessorise a blush wedding gown with pearl jewellery for a hint of ivory, or choose a pink dress with an ivory lace overlay for a perfect blend of the two colours. If you have your heart set on the big white dress, why not add a subtle blush sash, or a petticoat if you’re wearing a tea-length gown?

The accessories

Choosing rose-coloured shoes is the ideal way to add an extra blush touch to a classic ivory gown, and you can even top off the whole look with pink wedding jewellery. The gorgeous Paradise Pink and Misty Rose range from Glitzy Secrets are pretty in pink without distracting from your look.

The maids

Pale pink is arguably the most popular shade for bridesmaids’ dresses right now, so you’ll have plenty to choose from if you dress your girls in beautiful blush. Just remember to give them contrasting ivory bouquets so they pop more in photographs. If you’re wearing a blush wedding gown, why not reverse the roles and put your maids in ivory?

The flowers

Luckily some of the most romantic wedding flowers around come in shades of pink and white – or even both! For blousy blooms, you can’t go wrong with roses and peonies, which look incredible in both shades. If you want to keep to a stricter flower budget, try hydrangea or tulips, which are a more budget-friendly alternative but still look amazing in pink and white.

The cake

Depending on which flowers you’ve chosen, one of the easiest ways to create a simple but effective cake to match your theme is to incorporate your bouquet into the design. If you have blush flowers, then just ask your florist to pop a couple of the blooms onto a white buttercream cake – or you could even choose a naked cake and just add some pretty pink and ivory petals! If you really want to go to town with your cake, then you could include more intricate piped details and designs, such as lace, pearls and ruffles.

The decor

Marquees are ideal for a blush and ivory wedding theme, as they’re already white and you’ll just need to add blush lanterns, pom poms or flowers for venue décor that instantly matches your theme. If your reception room is largely a different colour, then the quickest way to transform the space is with the tables and chairs: add chair covers in your chosen colour (or even hire white chairs), and add full tablecloths with runners in a contrasting shade. Blush sequin tablecloths are beautiful way to add a little luxury to your table!
