If there’s one wedding dress trend I just can’t get enough of right now, it’s deep V fronted necklines. These stunning designs are everywhere at the moment and we’re sure to see more gowns like this hitting the bridal catwalks soon. So, if you’re wondering about wearing a plunging gown or if you’d like to know how to accessorise yours, read on…
More and more of these gorgeous gowns have been appearing in designer collections over recent years and brides everywhere are falling in love with them. Dramatic, daring and incredibly flattering, dresses with a low V are surprisingly great for every style of wedding.
Now you might be imagining that these gowns only come in super slinky styles or that they might not work for your shape. If that’s the case, put those thoughts from your mind right now! Whether you want to wear a full skirted dress, a boho design or a more figure-hugging dress, there’s a design for you.

So, let’s take a look at a few of the gowns that I’ve already fallen for. The romantic in me adores the dreamy full-skirted designs and Mori Lee, Willowby by Watters and Wtoo by Watters have plenty of these in their collections. Jesus Peiro and Andrea Hawkes bring pure sophistication to this style too with wonderful fabrics and a truly luxe look.
Alternative designs come from Sassi Holford, Grace Loves Lace and Ailsa Munro, all of whom have included gowns with full sleeves in their latest edit and I have to mention Jenny Packham here who has embraced this trend in her own style. Stunning embellishments and a perfectly cut gown is my version of heaven.
If you’ve got your heart set on a figure hugging gown, you’re pretty much spoilt for choice. Berta is the name you need to know here and my goodness, these dresses are just beyond amazing.

Of course, your perfect wedding dress needs the perfect bridal accessories and there are so many fantastic options. Deep V fronted gowns can work with a whole range of styles so, as always, think about the overall style of your wedding and the look you want to create.
A modern, sophisticated wedding (possibly with a Jesus Peiro gown!) needs equally sophisticated accessories. Sparkling earrings are an absolute essential and I’d stick with large studs. Sparkling Starlet or a design with a small drop.
If you’ve opted for a dramatic, figure hugging dress then statement drop earrings would be my style of choice. Starlet of Grace or Exquisite Extravagance would be ideal. A more romantic gown would look wonderful with pearl earrings – Eternally Classic or Simply Elegant are both must-haves.
You might well be expecting me to talk about statement necklaces with deep V fronted gowns but I have to say, I wouldn’t opt for a necklace here. After all, the V design speaks for itself! Instead, a statement cuff or bracelet is the perfect option. Choose your favourite from this fabulous selection, or treat yourself to two and change your look from ceremony to evening reception!
Oh deep V fronted dresses, I hope you’re here to stay.
